Under the Apple Blossoms The snow is gone in Redford Falls and romance is in bloom.

 A Redford Falls Story ~ Book 3

A tragic accident tore them apart. She left him behind and broke his heart. Is he strong enough to risk it again?

Police officer, Tyler Kringle, keeps his heart locked behind bars. His first and only love, Maripier Nadeau, left Redford Falls many years ago after a family tragedy. She moved on, leaving him to pick up the shattered pieces of his heart. But now Maripier is home to care for her father and to attend a dedication ceremony in her mother’s honour. Her return rattles Tyler’s cage, causing old emotions to resurface. Once he discovers the truth from the past, can he reclaim the love of his life and lock-down their future before she leaves again?

Excerpt:
Glancing in the rear-view mirror, she lifted her foot to let the vehicle slow. Stupid. Fleeing the accident and speeding away from the police was a rash judgment call.                                                         The kind officer seemed quite taken with her car, and the pony warranted the enthusiasm. The policeman, whose tall, fit body filled out his uniform, had short dark brown hair with layers blending into the top. She sensed a strange pull toward him, and when he removed his sunglasses and she looked into his eyes, she understood the attraction. It took only a second to make the connection. The hot police officer was none other than the ex she left behind so many years ago.
The revelation soured their casual banter. Seeing Tyler stole her breath, and the clear blue sky turned dark and stormy. Thankfully, he hadn’t recognized her. Maripier expected to see him at some point, but not within minutes of arriving. Taken aback, she ran. Just like before.

Review of Under the Apple Blossoms:
So nice to be in Redford Falls in the summertime.
Our heroine, Maripier left Redford Falls in haste following the tragic death of her mother. But she left behind more than the heartbreak of losing a parent. She left behind the young man she loved.
Eleven years later, returning to take care of her father, she is faced with secrets of the past and the uncertainty of the future.
Tyler Kringle never got over losing Maripier. She never answered the letters he sent which left him angry as well as hurt. He also carries a burden of guilt for how things played out in the past.
There is a family feud still simmering in the background, built on half-truths that have led everyone down misguided emotional paths.
In the midst of all this uncertainty, Tyler is trying to help raise his rebellious niece. Being a police officer, he uses the strict-by-the-book approach, tempered by his heart of gold.
Maripier uses a more gentle approach with the young lady and the niece is part of the catalyst bringing Tyler and Maripier back together.
Unable to ignore their feelings, and the apple blossom memories they both cherish, a happy ending seems a done deal if they can come together with open minds and open hearts.
You won't want to miss the ending. Another very enjoyable read from Darlene Fredette.
======================================

Ask the author! Have you ever included a line, character, or situation in a story just to secretly amuse yourself?

Many times. A couple that stand out are...

A neighbor had a chocolate lab named Hershey who was absolutely adorable. I loved the name and had to include Hershey in one of my books. I recently saw this neighbor during a walk and after he told me about Hershey’s passing, I told him I had added Hershey to a story I wrote. He said he would look it up and then he bought the book for his wife.

Oh wow, to have a pet "memorialized" in a book must have been a great comfort to your neighbors. I've read the book to which you are referring, Hershey's Choice. Another touching romance.

What else?  A friend visited one day and called our German Shepherd a beast because he was so big. Now, I tend to use the term ‘beast’ in my books when referring to large dogs, lol. Love it. I'll have to watch for that, now that I know the inside story. Thanks Darlene.
